Potential Extreme Cold This Weekend;
Warming Shelters Identified if Needed
Otsego County Office of Emergency Services officials are monitoring the weather conditions for the weekend of January 24-25, as forecasts indicate the potential for wind-chill values approaching or potentially exceeding -20°F. Should these conditions materialize, pre-identified warming shelters are available and will be activated if needed to provide a safe, warm space for County residents. Additional details will be communicated promptly if shelters are opened.
Clarks Sports Center – 124 County Highway 52, Cooperstown. Normal hours of operation are 08:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday & Sunday.
Warming Station – 291 Chestnut Street, Oneonta. Normal hours of operation are 5:30 PM to 08:00 AM, seven days a week.
City of Oneonta –
o Armory – 4 Academy Street, Oneonta. Will open as necessary.
o SUNY Oneonta – 108 Ravine Parkway, Oneonta. Will open as necessary.
Richfield Springs –
o Richfield Springs Central School – 93 W Main Street, Richfield Springs. Will open as necessary.
o Richfield Springs Fire Department – 34 E James Street, Richfield Springs. Will open as necessary.
